Accepting and Creating Change

Change is a universal law. Everything is always changing because it is composed of energy and energy by definition is always moving. When something changes without you deciding to make a change, see it as beneficial and look for its positive consequences.

The pursuit of achieving or becoming anything always involves a change from what is or has been. There are three major fears that you might have to deal with in this:

  1. Fear of change. This is usually accompanied by lack of trust - trust that the new will be as good as or better than the past, and trust that what you are pursuing is right for you to be pursuing.

  2. Fear of failure. You might be a perfectionist and don’t accept failure as a necessary setback from which to learn in order that you might correct your pursuit and eventually succeed. You might need to work on your trust - trust that you can achieve what you have decided you want to achieve.

  3. Fear of criticism. When you change others need to change how they relate to you and they may not want to. They might not like what you are doing or becoming. They might criticise you. This fear is related to your desire to be accepted and loved by others. Deepen your own convictions in what you do, and make sure you continue to love and value yourself and your decisions.

We must never seek to change ourselves because we do not like ourselves. If that is the motivation we will choose more of what we are trying to move away from. Change, to be beneficial, must be based on an acceptance of what is and a vision of what is possible and potential, which are soul realities. In this way we do not expend energy trying to move away from something - which is not possible because it is within us - but expend our energy pursuing what we dream of. This is what the universe supports and what our soul delights in.

Exercises:

1. Determine what it is you want to attain or achieve, and then examine yourself in light of the three major fears above to see how you might be blocking yourself.

2. What soul potential exists within you that needs to be activated at this time in your life in order to more effectively meet some need that exists?
