Balance In A Life of Wholeness
Our life
journey is a search for wholeness, driven in part by our perception of
incompleteness, but deeply compelled by the wholeness that we already
are. We cannot escape the journey because the consciousness of wholeness
has not imbued our psychology and all aspects of our brain. The
wholeness that we are needs to be grounded psychologically and
physically. That is our task as human beings. To accomplish this we need
to think in terms of wholeness, experience it emotionally, and act in
ways that reflect it. The quality of anything is determined by the
degree of our consciousness of wholeness. Even morality is based on this
reality.
Once we
accept this reality, then we can see beauty everywhere. Then we really
recognize the magic of life. Then we choose to celebrate every moment
and enjoy whatever is happening. Lightness enters our life. Our
difficulties pale in light of this fantastic life that we are and that
is given to us without ever having to do anything special except be
ourselves. We can then see that there is nothing to complain about and
no one to blame for anything.
A
profound truth which we need to really understand is that we need the
negative in life. We need limitation. We need people in our life who
challenge us. Opposites create each other. The positive creates the
negative and the negative creates the positive. The one cannot exist
without the other. When we really ‘get’ this, then we do see the magic.
When we are grateful for illness, financial loss and death, because they
teach us and help us to grow, we can finally break through illusion and
see the liberating beauty and magic of life.
The
opposites in life always exist because they create each other.
Associated with this idea is that expansion and contraction, must be
equal in all things in life and consciousness in order for there to be
equilibrium or balance. If they are not equal and simultaneous then
there is imbalance or illusion. Imbalance is destructive. Balance is
creative.
If the
expansion, or outgoing energy is greater, then you have explosion. If
contraction or ingoing energy is greater then you have implosion. When
they are balanced then the being is in the centre – the centre of
creation and therefore in the place where the life energy and the
consciousness energy merge. In us this is a place where we are grounded
and at the same time transcendent. The centre is where Spirit meets form
and we are in soul. The merging of the life energy and the consciousness
energy is a synthesis that is called creation or creative energy.
We must
always strive to keep this balance as reflected partially in the
principle of alternance. Activity must be balanced with stillness.
Rational thinking must be balanced with heart awareness. Receiving must
be balanced with giving. The list is endless.
