The Global Brain, Heart and Soul
There are
many people around the world who are beginning to voice the changes that
need to be happening, and which are actually beginning to happen, that
affect everyone on earth. The economic collapse of 2008-2009 is part of
the need to have a new economic system that gives priority to the common
good of all.
Michael
Gorbachev (State of the World Forum) talks about a global brain. In 1995
in a speech to the Forum he called for new values for the members of the
‘global brain trust’ to guide them in developing methods of social
action and policy, avoiding the extremes of collectivism (e.g.,
communism) and individualism (e.g., free market capitalism).
Bishop
Swing goes one step further and speaks of the need for a global soul,
which he said, in 1995, is missing. Robert Muller, former UN Under
Secretary- General, had this to say about the global brain: “In my view,
from all perspectives – scientific, political, social, economic and
ideological – humanity finds itself in the pregnancy of an entirely new
and promising age: the global, interdependent, universal age; a truly
quantum jump; a cosmic event of the first importance that is perhaps
unique in the universe: the birth of a global brain, heart, senses, and
soul of humanity, of a holistic consciousness of our place in the
universe and on this planet, and of our role and destiny in them.”
The
primary reason that the current economic system must fail and be
replaced is because it is capitalism without soul. But because humanity
is not yet sufficiently soul conscious, this reorganization of the world
economy will take years of experimentation. The vision of a soulful
economy must enter the minds and hearts of a great many leaders and
politicians so that implementation can occur. Meanwhile, those who have
soul values must exhort those who make decisions to implement those
values, because soul is about values. Soul inspired structures can vary
immensely. It is the values or their lack which imply soul presence or
not.
